Starry Night with Bridge was created from three images: VanGogh's impressionist painting "The Starry Night" . To this image was added a photograph of what appears to be a partially completed bridge . The background of the photograph was erased leaving only the bridge. Next, a bi-wing airplane was lifted from a painting called "Early Flight" . Finally, some text, "Create Your Own Art with Photoshop" was added.

| Want to buy some Duct Tape? was produced from stock photos of an Atomic Bomb from FreeStockPhotos.com (Apocalyptic), and a photograph of New York City under storm clouds in 1931. It is hard to tell exactly how big the bomb blast would be in comparison to the city, so I sized the image so that it appeared overwhelming. See the originals and the composite picture .
This picture was originally produced at 700x760 pixels, but reduced to 350x380 to conserve pixels. I thought that this image would make a good animation exercise. The resulting animated image shows a blinding flash followed by an unfolding mushroom cloud that roils with bright glowing colors before the entire sky is dominated by the red cloud.

Rural Maryland is a combination of a striking photograph of a lone tree beside a straight wood rail fence in a snowcovered field, and an image of a small barn or shed. The image of the shed was distorted to make it taller and thinner. Both images were already grainy.

| Beachgrass and a Starr was a practice exercise that began with a photograph of a beach scene . The beach scene was treated with a filter. Then a picture of Marilyn Monroe was added after the background had been erased. Then the creature from "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" was added from an old movie poster. The creature and Marilyn were found on AllPosters.com.

| Rosey Dawn departs for another day is composed of two 18th century paintings. A sunset over a wooded stream is the background and a boy cherub kissing a girl cherub signifies dawn kissing the day goodnight.
The cherubs were smudged into the picture after being reduced to 47% opacity. The pictures together .
