Appendix E.Fitz's 1943 Letter to Howard C.
The letter reproduced in the following pages was written in the winter of 1943 by Fitz M. to his good friend Howard C., a fellow member of the Washington Group. By the time this letter was written Fitz knew that he had the rectal cancer that eventually killed him at the age of 46. The letter contains much of the same language that one would hear around an AA meeting in the 1990s.
