 The first part of the house (the south side of the front) was built sometime around 1860. Then before 1900 the north side was built and the front porch probably added. At that time it had an outhouse and the kitchen was a separate structure behind the house. |
 In 1930 a shipfull of lumber sunk off Assateague Island and Nathan Hill, his father and grandfather took a horse and wagon and salvaged the wood they used to build the current kitchen and mudroom on the back of the house. Some years later, a section of the living room was divided off and an indoor bathroom constructed. The bathroom remained essentially the same until we remodeled it in 2000 and the kitchen was the same until we remodeled it in 2003. |
